Samsung S8000 Jet can easily be called as one of the most beautiful phones to have hit the markets in 2009. The phone has a fantastically stretched body type with a large display screen and a scintillating navigation key allowing very easy interface usage. Two keys for call answer and call end dominate the front panel along with its impressive display screen.
It is a 3G phone with quad band support for its 2G GSM technologies. The supported bands are of GSM 850/900/1800/1900 therefore this phone can be used throughout the world without worrying about lack of network coverage. 3G network coverage on the other hand ensures fast speed Internet and data transmission speeds. The gadget has physical dimensions of 108.8 mm by 53.5 mm by 11.9 mm and weighs 110 grams. These physical dimensions aren't too big or too small for a person to be bothered even if the phone is kept in the hand or in the pocket.
Display screen is an AMOLED resistive touchscreen and measures 3.1 inches in size. It has a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels and can display an immaculate sixteen million colours. The display quality is further improved through the TouchWiz v2.0 user interface, accelerometer sensor for auto rotate and motion user interface and proximity sensor for auto turn off.
It has an inbuilt memory of 2GB or 8GB with an external memory support of 16GB using a microSD memory card. This space is ample to store large volume of data and store large chunks of files which may be in various file formats supported by the device. Imaging as a factor is very well understood and applied here as Samsung S8000 Jet comes with a five megapixel camera and features of auto focus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, face/smile and blink detection and wide dynamic range. These attributes help in capturing a beautiful picture and in recording brilliant quality videos. Videos are recorded in D1 quality with a resolution of 720 X 480 pixels and at thirty frames per second. The secondary camera helps in video calling using the 3G network.
More than anything else on this new samsung mobiles I love its user interface. The display screen is large but not unbearably large to make its weight go up extensively. The key located below the display for navigation is superbly easy to use and makes the whole process a breeze. The accelerometer sensor also helps in the motion user interface making the whole operation an enjoyable one.
